The Cider House
WYTHALL ESTATE
Ross on Wye, Herefordshire.
1998 - 2001
The
Wythall Estate includes the 16th Century house and several
outbuildings. The practice has been involved with the estate
for some time and has previously carried out repairs to the
house and the conversion of the chapel to office space.
The latest project involved the conversion of the cider
house, located adjacent to the main house to form a new
dwelling.
The project involved full repair of the existing timber
framed structure and sensitive adaptation of the interior
while retaining the character and feel of the original
building including the retention of the original cider mill
which features in the main living area.
The
project was particularly unique in the close co-operation
between the designer client and contractor in the
development of details.
Further projects to convert the stables are planned in the
near future. |
